- In order to have a bon fire, you obviously need a proper fire pit or portable fireplace. Before you fire it up, make sure there aren’t any over hanging trees or flammable structures near by. There are local fire codes that you must abide by before having a bon fire, so make sure you’ve got everything in order.
- If your fire is wood-burning then make sure you’re fully stocked with plenty of dry wood logs. Keep them out of the snow and near to the fire so that you won’t have to go far when the fire needs a little rekindling.
- Clear out the area for your guests. Remove any stones or loose debris that someone could easily trip over. Also clear a path for your guests so they won’t have to trek through snow to reach the party zone.
- Gather several buckets of water and place them near the fire. This will make extinguishing the fire a breeze.
